Basic Roulette Game Rules
The basic roulette rules will apply to all the different kinds of games. These basics include the roulette wheel and table. The wheel is where the ball will be spun, and the results are revealed when it lands on a specific division. In comparison, the table reflects the wheel but is categorized in how you would be playing your bets.
The wheel divisions will be coloured in either black or red and numbered one until 36. Zero on the wheel is the only division that is different in colour on the green. American has an added slot that has the double zero, but it is still coloured green. The ball that is spun in the wheel is white.
Before the game starts, you will place your bets. Once all the best are placed, you can click on the spin button, and the wheel will spin with the ball and come to a stop. If where the ball landed matches your bet, then you will receive your payout.
Roulette Winning Rules
As we have mentioned, there are different variations of online roulette. As a result, there will be some rules that only apply to a specific game. French and European roulette are the games that have these rules called the En Prison and La Partage. Find out more about them below.
La Partage Roulette Rules Payout
This rule applies to the even-money bets that you can make on the table. These even bets are red/black, even/odd and high/low bets. These bets have a 50/50 chance of winning, and because of that, they don’t have high odds.
You will use the La Partage rule that comes into play when zero is involved. If you place a bet when this rule is in play, you will get half of your bet when the ball lands in the zero. This rule not only affects the bet but also affects the house edge. The house edge will be reduced from 2.70% to 1.35%.
En Prison Roulette Game Rules
This rule also applies to even money bets and also comes into play when zero is involved. When the ball lands in zero, it will be marked “En Prison”, which means that you will get your original bet back if you win the next spin. For example, if you choose to be $5 on odd and the ball lands on zero, the next spin is an even, you will get your $5 wager back. However, if in the next spin it is an even, then you lose your bet.
Rules of Roulette How to Play
There are four steps involved in how you play roulette. See the steps below.
- Make a Bet – you will start by placing your bets. You will choose from all the available bets on the table.
- The first round will start – the dealer/ RNG will spin the wheel, and the ball will be thrown there. While the wheel is still spinning, you can still make bets or change them.
- Betting is closed – before the wheel stops, there won’t be any more bets allowed, and the dealer will announce “no more bets”.
- Results – the wheel will stop spinning, and the ball will land in a division. Based on the bets on the table, if you have won, you will get your payout.
- Next round – once all the payouts are made, then the next round will start. It will also start by players placing bets.
